Question:
Is it possible to copy my tasks from one project to another? If so, how would I do that?
Answer:
Yes, you absolutely can! The process will require a few steps, but all the details are included below.
To summarize, you can export the tasks in CSV format, then utilize the 'Import Tasks' function.
This will allow you to import task attributes: title, priority, category, assignee, start and end dates, plan, position on the plan, manpower, cost, hashtags, related tasks, checklists, and files.
Note: This process will not copy over the body of the task or any other attachments.
Step 1: Export Tasks
Within the Tasks tab, select 'Generate Reports', then 'New Report' and choose 'CSV'. This will export the tasks in a spreadsheet format. You can leverage filters to locate the tasks you'd like to export, then click the 'Send' button to send yourself the file:
Step 2: Open the CSV report (received via email)
Your exported tasks are now displayed in a table. Delete out the rows you don't need, leaving only the tasks you'd like to import.
Note: It is best to open this CSV file via Excel or Google Sheets.
Step 3: Import tasks
Open your project and select the Tasks tab, then click 'Import Tasks'. From here, you can copy and paste the task information that you would like to import:
Errors
Red cells indicate where categories, plan names, etc. are inconsistent between the old and the new projects. You can either delete this information, or manually update it to match the new project. If there are many red cells, simply cancel the task import and set up the new project with the same attributes as the original project before completing the import.
