Overview
The Task Analytics view gives you a clear, centralized picture of how work is progressing across your project. It highlights trends, task volume, and workflow patterns so you can quickly identify where things are running smoothly and where adjustments may be needed. By surfacing key metrics in visual form, the Task Analytics view helps you make informed decisions, improve throughput, and keep your project on track.
With the Task Analytics view, you can:
- Monitor task volume, completion rates, and overall throughput over time
- Identify bottlenecks or tasks at risk of delay
- Analyze workload distribution by category, status, or assignee
- Drill down into specific areas of your project for deeper insights
This view supports a shift from reactive task management to proactive project optimization—providing the visibility you need to maintain momentum and meet deadlines.
Accessing the Task Analytics View
You can access analytics for your project from the Tasks tab:
- Navigate to your project’s Tasks section.
- Select the Analytics option located on the Kanban Board.
This will open the Task Analytics view, where all available metrics and visualizations are displayed.
Customizing the Data You See
You can tailor the Task Analytics view to your needs using:
- Search – Find tasks or categories quickly
- Filters – Narrow down data by category, assignee, status, or other attributes
- Sorting (Group tasks) – Organize results to highlight specific task sets
Note:
Only the top 20 categories (those with the most tasks) are displayed by default. To view others, apply the Filter tasks option.
Viewing Metrics and Graphs
The Task Analytics view includes several graphs that help you evaluate progress, performance trends, and lifecycle history.
If your project uses Custom Task Statuses, those statuses will also appear in the analytics graphs.
Graphs can help you understand:
- Total number of tasks created
- Tasks that have been completed and verified
- Changes in task volume over time
- Weekly trends in task creation, completion, and verification
These insights are valuable for assessing general workflow health and long‑term project progress.
Lifetime Tasks Graph
The Lifetime Tasks graph provides historical data showing how your task volume changes over time.
- Updated once per week, on Sundays
- Displays up to 12 weeks of past data
- Always begins counting from the previous Sunday
This graph helps you evaluate long‑term patterns in workload and activity.
Understanding the Metrics in the “In Progress” Graph
The “In Progress” graph includes several calculated weekly figures:
- Open rate: Number of tasks created that week
- Completion rate: Number of tasks marked Complete that week
- Verification rate: Number of tasks marked Verified that week
Estimated Time to Project Completion
The estimated time to project completion is based on:
The total number of open tasks
Your weekly open rate
Your weekly completion rate
This calculation estimates the number of days required for all tasks to reach the Complete status.
Example Calculation
Given:
- 100 open tasks
- Open rate: 10 tasks/week
- Completion rate: 20 tasks/week
Tasks are being completed faster than they are created. The open task count decreases by:
- 20 completed – 10 created = 10 net fewer tasks per week
Estimated time to project completion:
(7 days) * (100 tasks) / (20 - 10 tasks) = 70 days
