Batch Delete Markups Feature for Followers (March 2024)

Project Followers are generally quite restricted as to what they can do within the Fieldwire application, but our latest change to plan markup functionality allows them to right-click on a batch-selected group of markups to edit them all at once.

Prevent duplicate photos from being included in hyperlinks (March 2024)

If a user attempts to add an image to a hyperlink that already contains the exact same image, it will not be duplicated in the hyperlink. Instead, the hyperlink will remain exactly as it was.

German Electrical Symbols (April 2024)

In a recent update to Fieldwire, we added some new German electrical symbols to our markup options for plan sheets. Now when viewing a plan sheet and adding a Symbol to the plan sheet you will see an option for “Electrical 🇩🇪(Germany)”.

Looking for a specific set of photos on your iPhone or iPad? Now it's easier to locate exactly what you need - tap on the small icon to the right of any photo date to collapse the set of images.

[Android] Delete Photos from the "Photos" Tab (March 2024)

In a recent update to Fieldwire, we added the ability to delete photos from within the Photos Tab on Android devices. Now when you’re viewing photos within the Photos Tab on a project you can long press on the photo you wish to delete and a new deletion menu will appear asking if you want to delete the photo.

- Admins can delete any photo in the Photos tab
- Project Members can delete any photos that they have uploaded to the Photos tab
- Project Followers cannot delete any photos from the Photos tab

Display GPS Coordinates on Photo Details (April 2024)

Although GPS coordinates have been available on our web version of Fieldwire for some time, it is now possible to also view them right on your mobile devices! To view, open the photo of your choice and then select the information ("I") symbol in the upper right corner. You'll see the coordinates as well as a mini-map displaying a red pin, indicating the location where the photo was taken.

SharePoint Integration (April 2024)

A fresh addition to our Integrations tab (available from the Account page), the SharePoint integration allows Admins to set up a connection to Fieldwire. Once the connection is initiated, automations can be easily activated for 1-way syncing of documents to the Files tab.

Google Drive Integration (April 2024)

Similar to the SharePoint integration, Admins can activate a connection between Google Drive and Fieldwire, then set up an automation to ensure that files added to Google Drive are then synced over to the Files tab. Storing your installation instructions, manuals, certifications, and more in Fieldwire has never been easier!

Change Order Presets (March 2024)

A substantial update to our Change Orders feature, Cost Presets, has arrived! With this tool, Admins can create unit rates for Materials, Labor, Equipment, Subcontractor, Other, and Cost Markups - and utilize them whenever they're generating a Change Order in the future.

Edit RFI name outside of Draft status (May 2024)

In a recent update to Fieldwire, we added the ability to edit an RFI name when it is outside of the “Draft” status. To edit the RFI’s name the RFI outside of the draft status it will need to be in an Open or Pending status and either be the creator or Manager of the creator or current assignee's company.

Performance Improvements and Additional New Features

German Localization for Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical Markup Symbols (March 2024)

If the language in your Fieldwire application is set to German, you now have the ability to access markup symbols that are localized for the Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical categories. These symbols are available on the web, iOS, and Android. Additionally, any markup summaries generated from your project will include the localized symbols.

Add new dates to the Submittals CSV report (April 2024)

Our new additions to the Submittals CSV report includes columns for "Date Requested", "Date Received", and "Date Closed". Depending on your workflow, these fields will help you track the progression of submittals in a more granular fashion (they will be left blank if you utilize a shorter workflow). Additionally, the "Date Submitted" column has been updated to display the date when the submittal is moved from "Draft" to "Pending Approval" (shorter workflows), or when the submittal is moved from "Pending Review" to "Pending Approval" (longer workflows).

[iOS] Dark Mode (April 2024)

If you're a fan of Apple's dark mode feature, check out our latest update for Fieldwire on iOS, featuring seamless dark mode functionality! You can easily try it out by enabling dark mode on your device (Settings > Display & Brightness > "Dark" option under "Appearance") and then launching the Fieldwire app. If you're a fan of Dark Mode on Fieldwire, but don't necessarily want it on your entire device or to set it as default in your system settings, you can change it specifically for your Fieldwire app on that device by going to "Profile" on the projects dashboard going to "Dark mode" and then selecting "On".

QR Codes (April 2024)

 A long-anticipated and highly-requested feature has arrived - QR codes for Tasks and Plans! Select a task or plan within Fieldwire (Android, iOS, or the web) to generate your scannable code. From here, you can download the code as a printable PDF and post the printout at the jobsite. Other Fieldwire users on your projects will be able to scan the code to quickly view the exact task or plan linked to it.

[iOS] New Project List Controls (April 2024)

In a recent update to Fieldwire on iOS we updated the location where we display the “Profile”, “Support”, and “Log-Out” options. Now when viewing the Fieldwire app you will be able to click the menu button on the upper-right-hand side of your screen and a popup menu will display the “Profile”, “Support”, and “Log-Out” options.
