A (hash)tag in Fieldwire is another way to group or filter plans, tasks, and photos. Tags are a great way to organize and associate tasks, plans, or photos with a specific trade, location, punch list, or anything else you'd like.
As your project grows more intricate, using tags provides additional organization. Especially since you can filter by and report on tags.
Can I add or edit multiple hashtags at once?
You can add tags to specific pieces of content in bulk through the web version of Fieldwire.
The following sections go through how to add tags to multiple pieces of content:
Project Admins can also 'Manage tags' through the web version of Fieldwire. This option allows you to view a list of all tags being used throughout the project. You can also view the frequency of the tag, and can add new tags or edit existing tags.
Plans & Tags
Plan tags allow you to group specific plans together. These tags are a great way to organize your plans and associate them with a specific trade, duty, discipline, etc. It's also a great way to instantly filter for plans that you frequently access during the course of your project.
Step 1: Select all plans you would like to tag by clicking on the upper left-hand box of each plan thumbnail. You can also select a folder to tag all of the plans housed in that folder:
Step 2: After you select all the pertinent plans, click on the 'Actions' button at the top of the screen. Then select 'Manage tags':
Step 3: The 'Manage tags' box will then appear. Here you can enter a new tag or type an existing tag to associate all selected plans with that tag. To remove tags from the selected plans, click the 'X' next to the tag name:
Step 4: You can now click 'Filter plans' (on web or mobile), enter a tag, and only those plans will appear:

Files & Tags
File tags allow you to group specific files together, which you can then organize using the 'Filter' tool.
Step 1: Click into the 'Files' tab in the left menu and select all the files you would like to tag by clicking on the checkboxes on the left of each. You can also select the checkbox next to any folder to select and tag all of the files housed in that folder:
Step 2: After you select all the pertinent files, click on the 'Actions' button at the top of the screen. You will then select 'Manage files':
Step 3: The 'Manage tags' box will then appear. Here you can enter a new tag or type an existing tag to associate all selected plans with that tag. To remove tags from the selected plans, click the 'X' next to the tag name:
Step 4: You can now filter files on (web or mobile) by the tag and only those files will appear:
Tip: You can also filter and sort by tags in reports!
Tasks & Tags
Other articles about tags describe how you can add a tag to a task by using the hashtag (#) symbol in the body of the task, you can also add multiple tasks
Step 1: Go to the 'Tasks' page and select all the tasks you would like to tag by clicking the tick mark that pops up when you hover over the tasks.
Step 2: After all the tasks are selected, click on the 'Actions' button at the top of the screen. Then select Manage tags.
Step 3: The 'Manage tags' box will appear. Here you can enter a new tag or start typing an existing tag to add the tag to all selected tasks. To remove tags from the selected tasks, click the 'x' next to the tag name.
Step 4: You can now 'Filter tasks' (on web or mobile) by the tag and only those tasks will appear.
Note: Once the tag is added, it will appear darker than the existing tags. Darker text means that the tag has been applied to all selected tasks. The lighter text means the tag is included in some, but not all tasks. This will be the same with photos and plans.
On iOS, you can add tags to tasks by using the '#' symbol in a task comment. You can also add tags to tasks from the Task Attributes:

On Android, you also can add tags to tasks through a task comment using the '#' symbol. Alternatively, you can add tags to tasks from the Task Attributes:

Note: Whenever the tasks are filtered on the web, the Filter tasks bar will be highlighted. This will be the same for photos and plans.

Step 1: Select the 'Task View' on a plan:
Step 2: Select the 'Magnifying Glass' to search by tag. Select the 'Back' option to return to a plan:
Checklists & Tags
When you add an existing checklist template to your tasks, a tag of the checklist name will also be added to the task. This ensures that you are able to filter your tasks by the tag of the checklist name.
This tag will appear once you close and come back to the task. The tag is also available to view under the manage tags option under the 'settings' option.
Step 1: Add an existing checklist for your task:
Step 2: The checklist will be added to the task. You can continue to modify the task. If you refresh the page, or close the task, and re-open it, the checklist name tag is added to the task tags:
If you don't want the checklist name tag on the task, you can remove it. To remove the tag from the task, click on the Tags attribute, and click on the 'x' next to the tag:
You can also delete this tag from your project entirely through the 'Manage Tags' option. Project admins can do this under the settings tab. Select the 'Manage Tags' icon; to delete the tag, click on the trash icon:
Photos & Hashtags
The process for batch editing photos is very similar to editing for tasks:
Step 1: Select all photos that you would like to tag by clicking on the upper left-hand box of each photo thumbnail.
Step 2: Click on the 'Actions' button at the top of the screen, then select 'Manage tags'.
Step 3: The Manage tags box will appear. Here you can enter a new tag or start typing an existing tag to add the tag to all selected photos. To remove tags from the selected photos, click the 'X' next to the tag name.
You are now able to filter photos by the tag and only those photos will appear:
