Question
I already have various resources for my projects (plans, files, photos, etc.) saved on Google Drive, and I would like to upload them to Fieldwire. Does Fieldwire integrate with Google Drive and if so, what are all the places in the platform where I can use Google Drive shortcuts?
Answer
Yes, Fieldwire absolutely integrates with Google Drive! You can upload plans, files, and photos stored on Google Drive directly to the Fieldwire Plans, Files, and Photos tabs, respectively. Just select Google Drive as your source when you're making new uploads in any of those Fieldwire modules (instructions below).
Files and photos stored on Google Drive can also be uploaded directly to your Fieldwire Tasks. If SSO in enabled on your account, you can even create a new Google doc, sheet, or slide directly from a Fieldwire Task! After you choose the relevant Google Drive option in the Fieldwire Task (instructions below), the new doc, sheet, or slide will be both saved in Google Drive and accessible on the Fieldwire Task.
Note: Please note that this is different than setting up the integration between Fieldwire and Google Drive that we cover in this article: Integrations Tab: Setting up SharePoint & Google Drive.
How to Upload content stored in Google Drive to Fieldwire's Plans, Files, and Photos tabs
To upload content stored on Google Drive to the 'Plans', 'Photos', and 'Files' tabs, follow these instructions:

When uploading on the 'Files' tab, select '+New File':
When uploading to the 'Photos' tab, select '+New Photo':
2. In the Upload popup, Choose the Google Drive option, and click on 'Connect Google Drive':
3. A new tab will open in your browser. If your Google credentials are saved in your browser, you will simply choose the Google account you'd like to access in Fieldwire. If you do not have an account saved, you will be asked to log in:

You'll have to log into your Google account each time you'd like to upload content from Google Drive to the Plans, Files, and Photos tabs.
4. After you choose the pertinent Google account and log in, you will receive a validation message that asks if you would like Filestack, an integration built into Fieldwire for all uploads, to access your Google Drive account. Click allow to create the integration between Google Drive and Fieldwire:
5. After you select 'Allow', you will be redirected to Fieldwire. The upload window will show the folders and files you have within Google Drive:
Note: Fieldwire can currently upload these file types: .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .svg, .bmp, .pdf, .docx, .xls, .csv
How Google Drive Files integrate with Fieldwire Tasks (SSO Required)
Set up the Connection:
If SSO is enabled on your account, you can create a new Google doc, sheet, or slide directly in a Fieldwire Task. The link to the new doc, sheet, or slide is available in both the Fieldwire 'task' and in Google Drive thereafter. Before you can create the content, you'll need to connect your Google Account to Fieldwire:
1. Navigate to your task, click on the paperclip icon, and select 'Google Drive':
2. Choose to create a "Google Doc", "Google Sheet, or "Google Slides", this establishes the connection:
3. Once you have chosen the content type, click on 'Connect account':
4. A new tab will open and you'll choose the Google account you'd like to connect to. If your Google account is saved in the browser, you'll choose which account you would like to connect to. If you don't have a Google account saved in your browser, you'll need to log in:
5. After you choose your Google account, choose to 'allow' Fieldwire to access your Google account:
6. Once you choose 'allow', you will be redirected back to your Fieldwire task, as the connection between Fieldwire and Google Drive is now established and you can create Google Drive files from your tasks!
Create New Google Drive Files in Fieldwire Tasks
After you have established the connection between Google Drive and Fieldwire, you can create new Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides directly in Fieldwire Tasks:
1. Navigate to your task and follow steps 1 and 2 in the 'Set up the Connection' section:
2. Once you have chosen the type of document that you'd like to create, you'll see a pop-up where you can enter a title for the content. This defaults to the title of the Task, but you can adjust it. Once you're satisfied, click 'Create':
3. A new tab will open in your browser, displaying the newly created Google Drive document. You can begin to fill in the information on the file:
4. The Google Drive document that you create is also accessible in a direct link on your Task:

1. Navigate to your task, select the paperclip icon, and rather than 'Google Drive,' click 'Photo/file':
2. Select the Google Drive option, and click on 'Connect Google Drive':
3. A new tab will open in your browser. If your Google account credentials are saved to your browser, you will choose the account you'd like to use to access your Google Drive. If you do not have an account saved, you will be asked to log in:
Note: You can also use a different Google account if you don't want to select the one(s) already saved in your browser. Just click 'Use another account' on this step.
