Overview
Fieldwire users integrating with VOS Systems can connect their Fieldwire projects and tasks with VOS CoRe® (Connected Resources) to bridge the gap between planned work in Fieldwire and actual workforce execution in the field.
The VOS Systems integration allows Fieldwire projects and tasks to automatically sync into CoRe®, where they become executable activities that can be tracked using VOS’s connected-worker wearables. This creates a foundation for planned vs. actual labor visibility, automated timekeeping, and safety-aware workflows without requiring workers to install phone-based apps.
Unlike document-based integrations, the VOS integration is event-driven and workflow-based, syncing projects and tasks from Fieldwire into VOS in near real time. In this article, we’ll walk through how the integration works, what’s required to set it up, and what to expect once it’s live.

Setting up a Connection to VOS Systems
Connecting Fieldwire to VOS Systems is different from traditional file-sharing integrations (such as Google Drive or SharePoint). Instead of syncing documents, this integration uses information from Fieldwire to automatically create and update projects and activities inside VOS CoRe®.
Before getting started, make sure you have the correct access and permissions in both systems.
To create the connection, you’ll need:
A Fieldwire account with API access
- API access is required to receive project and task update events.

A Fieldwire account with Account Manager and Admin permissions to manage projects and tasks
- The integration relies on project updates (including address data) and task updates.
A VOS Systems (CoRe®) customer account
- VOS access is required. The VOS team will assist with account setup and integration onboarding.
An integration user in VOS CoRe®
- VOS creates a dedicated integration user with permissions to:
- Create projects
- Create activities
- Manage locations and zones
How the Integration Works
Project Sync (Fieldwire → CoRe®)
When a project in Fieldwire is created or updated with a valid address, the integration automatically:
- Creates a corresponding project in CoRe®
- Converts the Fieldwire address into latitude and longitude using a geocoding service
- Uses latitude/longitude to determine project timezone behavior
- Creates a default zone around the project location
- Grants the VOS integration user access and edit permissions
Important notes:
- A CoRe® project is only created once a Fieldwire project includes an address.
- If a project with the same name already exists, duplicate creation is avoided.
- The default zone ensures tasks can be assigned even if no additional locations exist yet.

Task Sync (Fieldwire Tasks → CoRe® Activities)
Fieldwire tasks are created incrementally and generate multiple update events. For example:
- Task created
- Task updated with name
- Task updated with start date
- Task updated with end date
- Task updated with manpower
To avoid incomplete records, VOS only creates a CoRe® activity once all required fields are present:
- Task name
- Start date
- End date
- Manpower
Once created, the CoRe® activity mirrors the Fieldwire task’s:
- Name
- Start and end dates
- Manpower
Activities are automatically assigned to all available project locations. If new locations are added later in CoRe®, future activities will be assigned to them as well.

Recommended Workflow Setup
To get the most value from the VOS Systems integration, we recommend:
- Creating Fieldwire projects with a complete address as early as possible
- Defining task start date, end date, and manpower consistently
- Using Fieldwire tasks to represent planned work that you want to validate against real labor execution
- Treating CoRe® as the system capturing actual workforce presence and time, not as a replacement for Fieldwire task planning
