Default Companies can be used alongside Project Templates to automatically create companies and assign users when new projects are created.
View Default Companies in a Template
- Navigate to the Templates tab.
- Open a project template.
- Go to the People section.
- Click Manage users
- Add or remove users from the Project Template
A Default Company column displays each user's assigned company.
Users Without a Default Company
If a user does not have a Default Company assigned, the table displays a Set default company link.
Selecting the link opens the Default Companies page in a new browser tab.
Creating a Project from a Template
When a project is created from a project template, Fieldwire:
- Identifies users in the project template.
- Checks each user's assigned Default Company.
- Creates the required companies in the new project.
- Automatically assigns users to their companies.
Sorting Users by Default Company
The Default Company column can be sorted:
- A-Z
- Z-A
Changes made on the Default Companies page automatically appear in project templates.
Good to Know
- Template users inherit their current Default Company assignment.
- No additional setup is required during project creation.
- Users without a Default Company will not be automatically assigned to a company.
