Overview
Fieldwire users can connect their Fieldwire account to InspectMind, an AI-powered platform designed to review construction drawings and specifications for coordination conflicts, code issues, and constructability concerns.
The InspectMind integration helps teams import Fieldwire project drawings and documents into InspectMind, run an AI-assisted plan review, and push validated findings back into Fieldwire as tasks. This connects document review directly to field execution without manual downloads, uploads, or duplicate data entry.
Fieldwire remains the source of truth for project information. InspectMind reads authorized project documents and can write approved findings back to Fieldwire as tasks, without migrating project data to another system.
This article explains the requirements for connecting Fieldwire and InspectMind, how the integration works, and what information is exchanged between the two platforms.
Note: This article focuses specifically on connecting and configuring the InspectMind integration. For general information about integrations and automations in Fieldwire, refer to the following articles:

Setting up a Connection to InspectMind
Before connecting Fieldwire and InspectMind, ensure you have the appropriate access in both platforms.
To create the connection, you'll need:
- An InspectMind account
- Integration setup is performed from the InspectMind Fieldwire integration page, not from within Fieldwire.
- A Fieldwire account with API access
- For more information about the Fieldwire API, see: Introduction to the Fieldwire API
- A Fieldwire user with Admin access to the projects that will be connected
- The API token used for the integration must have access to the projects that InspectMind will import and analyze.
Authorization between InspectMind and Fieldwire
During setup, InspectMind uses a Fieldwire API token to securely access selected Fieldwire projects. The token is entered by the user and sent to InspectMind only for the requested action, where it is exchanged server-side for a Fieldwire access token. Depending on the workflow step, InspectMind can:
- List available Fieldwire projects
- Read project files and sheets (PDF drawings and documents)
- Create tasks in Fieldwire from approved findings
- Read existing Fieldwire tasks to avoid creating duplicates
To connect Fieldwire to InspectMind, do the following:
1. Generate your Fieldwire API token
In Fieldwire:
- Open Account Settings
- Locate the API Token section
- Generate a personal API token
- Copy the token for use during setup
2. Open the InspectMind Fieldwire integration page
3. Connect your Fieldwire account
- Paste your Fieldwire API token
- InspectMind masks the token and uses it to load the projects available to your account
4. Select a project and documents
- Select the Fieldwire project to review
- Choose the PDF sheets and files to import
5. Import and review
InspectMind imports the selected files and creates a review. Once the review is complete, findings are available to browse, validate, and push back to Fieldwire.
How the InspectMind → Fieldwire Workflow Operates
After creating the connection, InspectMind can import authorized Fieldwire project documents, generate findings through AI-assisted review, and push validated findings back into Fieldwire as tasks.
Document Import
InspectMind lists the PDF files and sheets available in the selected Fieldwire project and downloads the ones chosen for import. Fieldwire remains the source of project documents; files are only imported when a user selects them.
AI Plan Review
Once documents are imported, InspectMind runs the requested review workflow against them. This step happens entirely within InspectMind and does not require further calls to Fieldwire.
Pushing Findings Back to Fieldwire
From the InspectMind review, eligible findings can be pushed back to Fieldwire as tasks. When pushing a finding:
- The user chooses a Fieldwire assignee for the task. Fieldwire may notify that assignee by email.
- Tasks are created with short, sequential names (for example, IM1, IM2) and do not include internal InspectMind IDs.
- When a finding corresponds to a specific drawing location, the resulting task is pinned to that location on the plan.
- The task comment includes the finding's severity, referenced sheets, supporting reasoning, and a link back to the review in InspectMind.
Fieldwire remains the project workspace where the resulting tasks are assigned, tracked, and resolved.
Deduplication and Rollback
Before creating a task, InspectMind checks existing Fieldwire task names for the same finding to avoid creating duplicates. If task creation or commenting fails partway through, InspectMind rolls back any tasks it created for that push so that Fieldwire doesn't retain a partial or misleading result.
Data Handling and Security
- Your Fieldwire API token is entered in your browser session and sent to InspectMind only for the action you request.
- The token is exchanged server-side for a Fieldwire access token and is not persisted in the InspectMind database.
- Imported PDFs are downloaded server-side with file validation and a size limit, then stored in InspectMind for review.
- Access is limited to the Fieldwire projects you select during setup.
Current Status and Limitations
- The integration currently uses API-token authentication between Fieldwire and InspectMind.
- Integration setup and configuration are managed from within InspectMind, not from inside the Fieldwire interface.
Support and Sales
- InspectMind support: support@inspectmind.ai
- InspectMind sales and partnerships: aakash@inspectmind.ai
FAQ
What is InspectMind?
InspectMind is an AI-powered platform that helps construction teams review drawings and specifications, identify coordination, code, and constructability issues, and track those issues through resolution.
How does InspectMind work with Fieldwire?
InspectMind connects to authorized Fieldwire projects using an API token, imports selected PDF documents for AI-assisted review, and can push validated findings back into Fieldwire as tasks.
Does InspectMind replace Fieldwire?
No. Fieldwire remains the project workspace and system of record for tasks and execution. InspectMind provides AI-assisted plan review and generates findings that flow into Fieldwire as tasks.
Will my Fieldwire project data be migrated into InspectMind?
No. Fieldwire remains the system of record. InspectMind imports only the documents you select for review and stores them for that purpose.
Will I need to pay a fee for this integration?
There is no Fieldwire fee for enabling the integration. Subscription or usage requirements from InspectMind may apply.
Who can I contact about this integration?
Contact InspectMind directly at support@inspectmind.ai for setup or support questions, or aakash@inspectmind.ai for sales and partnership questions.
