Overview
After you have created a Project, you will likely create many tasks pertaining to that project. Fortunately, there is a way to keep track of the large volume of content that you and other users create on the Project with the "Sort" and "Filter" Tasks options. You can leverage both the 'Sort' and 'Filter' options at the same time to only display the tasks that are relevant to you and your team.
How to sort tasks
Step 1: | Open your project and navigate to the 'Tasks' tab. |
Step 2: | Select the 'Sort tasks' option in the top-right corner. |
Step 3: | Choose one of the parameters to sort by. |
In this example, Tasks are sorted by the 'Plan' the task is associated with:
How to filter tasks
Step 1: | Open your project and navigate to the 'Tasks' tab. |
Step 2: | Select the 'Filter tasks' option in the top-right corner. |
Step 3: | Adjust the parameters in the 'Filter tasks' window to isolate tasks. |
Tip: Use the 'Filter tasks' tool to view the verified tasks which have been automatically archived: When are Verified tasks archived and how do I view them?

The 'Filter Tasks' Box
The 'Filter Tasks' pop-up allows you to leverage different task attributes to filter your tasks:
1. Status |
Filter tasks by status. If your project uses custom task statuses, these will populate under the ‘status’ drop-down menu. |
2. Categories |
A list of the categories in your project that you can filter by. Defaults to all categories if unspecified. |
3. Assignees | A list of the task assignees you can filter by. Defaults to all assignees if unspecified |
4. Creators | Filter by the creator of the pertinent task. |
5. Title | Filter by the task title. |
6. Plans | Here you can specify the folder(s), plan tag(s), or specific plan(s) you would like to filter your tasks by. |
7. Tags | Isolate by the tags you have used in the Task Attributes section. |
8. Location | Locations are either ordered in the context of other nested locations or can be reported on individually. See the Nested Locations article for more details: Introduction to Nested Locations |
9. Time Filter | This allows you to sort by when a task was last modified and created. Or the Start and End date of a task, as indicated in the "Task Attributes" section. Or if a task is Overdue or has been Completed or Verified. |
10. Time Filter | Allows you to designate the period of time for the above parameters. This will default to all time. |
11. Show all verified tasks |
Use this option to view verified tasks that have been automatically archived. |
Filtering with CTAs
For Business and Business Plus tier users, Custom Task Attributes can now be used when filtering tasks! To do so, you'll navigate to the Tasks tab, and click on the "Filter tasks" button. From there, you'll notice that any Custom Task Attribute that is toggled "on" will show up as an option by which to filter tasks.
