Overview
Fieldwire currently supports 20 languages. Check back on this article periodically as we always consider adding more language options to Fieldwire; please email us at support@fieldwire.com if you have a suggestion for a new language to add.
Selecting the language on web
You can set the language you would like to use on the web by clicking on the flag icon on the upper right, then selecting the relevant language.
Note: The date and time format also depends on the language settings of your Fieldwire account, it's independent from the time zone selected in your project settings.
If you would like your dates and time to be displayed in the US format (MM/DD/YY), please select "Englisch (US)".
However, if you would like to see your dates displayed in the European format (DD/MM/YY), please select "English (GB)".
Setting the language on your mobile app
On your iOS mobile device, you have the option to set your preferred language by going to your device settings, selecting the Fieldwire app and clicking on "Language".
Note: You can only change the Fieldwire app language after adding more than one language to your iOS device. If your device has only one language set, the option to change the app language will not appear.
For all other devices, the Fieldwire app will automatically follow the language set on your mobile device. If one of the aforementioned languages is not set on your device, Fieldwire's language will default to English.
If you update the language on your mobile device, the Fieldwire mobile app will follow suit.
If you are not seeing the Preferred Language option under the individual Fieldwire app, you should opt to add a second language first by doing the following:
- Go to the Settings app on your iOS device
- Select General
- Select Language & Region
- Under Preferred Languages, choose Add Language
- This second language is ideally the language you want to use for FW.
- Navigate back to the individual Fieldwire app in your iOS Settings
- See the option to adjust the language of Fieldwire.
Using the Google Translate extension
Tip: If Fieldwire does not yet support your language, we recommend you download the Google Translate extension for your browser. This way the displayed text will automatically translate to your localized dialect.
If you are running Google Chrome, you can download this extension here: Google Translate extension
