Overview
The Gantt view is a tool that you can use to visualize and schedule your tasks through task start and end dates. You can access the Gantt chart from the 'Tasks' tab. Start by selecting the Gantt view in the top-right corner:
Tip: The Gantt view operates similarly to the Kanban and Calendar view in that you can still batch edit, filter, sort, import, and generate reports on the Gantt view.

How to Adjust the Date Range, Sort, and Filter the Tasks
When selecting the Gantt view, the default order of tasks will be by task category and the default date range will be from the earliest to latest start date. To adjust the date range, select the start and end dates next to the date range drop-down:
To adjust the order of the tasks, select the 'Sort tasks' option in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Similar to the Kanban view, you can also 'Filter' tasks by other attributes such as Status, Category, Assignee, Task Creator, etc.
Select the 'Filter tasks' option, and then choose one or more task attributes to filter by:
Note: The 'Working Days', located under the 'Settings' tab, will be excluded from the manpower calculations:
How to Change Task Start and End Dates
In the Gantt view, you have the ability to change the start and end dates directly on the schedule. Hover over the end of the task bar, and an arrow will appear; click and drag to change the end date.
You can also modify the start date. Click the front/left side of the task bar and drag it to the desired start date:
Tip: A CSV report will show the date a task was completed and verified. This allows you to see when your task was completed early or late based on the task's end date.
The 'Shift Dates' Feature
Project Admins and Members can choose to 'Shift Dates' from the 'Actions' menu when multiple tasks are selected. This allows you to move the start and end dates forward or backward a certain number of days, as opposed to adjusting the start and end dates for several tasks individually.
Select multiple tasks, then choose 'Actions' and 'Shift dates':
Next, enter a number, and pick from "Days forward" or "Days backward":
Depending on what you have chosen, the ‘Start date’ and ‘End date' of the tasks are pushed forward or backward by the same number of days. The task duration remains the same; for example, a task with the start date of 1/1/25 and End Date of 1/5/25 that is pushed forward 5 days will have the start date of 1/5/25 and end date of 1/10/25.
What if your Tasks do not have Dates?
Tasks without start and end dates will appear in a column on the right-hand side of the window. You can drag and drop these tasks into the schedule. From there, drag the task bar out to clarify the start and end dates:
Tip: Use the Import Tasks feature to upload multiple tasks with start and end dates at one time.
How to Download the Gantt Chart View
As a Project Manager, it is essential to produce a look-ahead of your schedule to distribute to others. As a foreman, you need to keep your crew informed of upcoming due tasks. For this purpose, you can export your Gantt Chart view as a PDF.
Please note: The Gantt Chart only displays 200 tasks at a time, and also will only export the tasks that are visible.
The PDF file can be marked up using your PDF viewer software or by uploading the file to the Files tab. Furthermore, you can distribute this file to any non-Fieldwire users.
