Overview
Notifications are sent when a Task assigned to you or that you are tagged in is updated and the Project Settings and your individual Profile settings confirm you are choosing to receive notifications.
Note: You will not receive an update for any actions you perform in Fieldwire.
What types of Notifications can I receive?
Notifications are sent by Fieldwire when tasks are updated or created. These notifications are received by the assignee and anyone who has been assigned (or included in) the task at any point.
This article will detail the three types of notifications that Fieldwire sends, and how to enable notifications across all platforms.

Email Notifications
Email notifications are sent to the email address associated with your account. In order to receive email notifications, please ensure:
- Email notifications are enabled in the project settings.
(detailed in 3. Enabling notifications below) - Email notifications are enabled in your personal settings.
(detailed in 3. Enabling notifications below) - You have checked your Spam or Junk folder, in case the email notifications have been auto-directed here.
If you have checked above and do not see any email notifications from Fieldwire, please contact support@fieldwire.com.

Push Notifications
Web Notifications
All notifications will also be logged in the Notification Center on the web version of Fieldwire. To view your notifications, simply click on the 'bell' icon:
There, you will see your Notifications regarding Tasks, Plans, Forms, People, and Announcements.

When you click on the Notification, it will navigate you to the relevant project entity or project, itself:
You can filter your notifications directly in the notification center. The available filters are "Unread only", "Project", and "Type":
- Unread only: This filter will only show you the notifications that still have the blue dot indicating that it hasn't been read
- Project: This filter allows you to select from your list of projects and choose which project(s) you want to see notifications from
- Type: This filter allows you to select Tasks, Plans, Forms, People, and/or Announcements
Once you have reviewed the notifications you can select the three dots (⋮) and select either Mark all as read or Clear all. If you choose Clear all, there is no way to get those notifications back. To cut down on the amount of notifications that you have in your notification center at any given time, Fieldwire will automatically delete notifications that have been in your notification center for longer than 90 days.

Enabling Notifications within the Project Settings
The Project Admins can go to the 'Settings' tab and can choose how often and which types of notifications are sent to the team on the project.
The two options are:
- Enabling/disabling the "Send email when tasks are created or updated" setting, which will ensure an email is sent to the owner of the task or anyone watching the task whenever messages are added on a task, a task is verified or completed, or the assignee of a task is updated on a task that they follow.
- Enabling/disabling the "Send email when plans have a new version or markups" setting, which will ensure a daily email is sent if any markups (including private markups) are added or deleted as well as if a plan sheet/version was added or deleted.
Enabling Notifications within your Profile Settings
Each person on the project can go to their Profile 'Settings' tab and can choose the frequency of whether to receive notifications:
- Instantly - With this setting, you'll receive Project-Wide notifications and instant Task updates. See the section below on what triggers a task notification versus what does not.
- Daily - With this setting, you'll receive Project-Wide notifications, Task updates, and Plan Updates. Our daily notifications are sent at 5AM based on the timezone of the project.
- Never - With this setting, you'll only receive Project-Wide notifications

When will a Notification be Sent?
Task Notifications
A task notification will be sent when:
- Adding Messages on task.
- Verifying/completing a task.
- Updating the assignee of a task.
- When the due date of the task has arrived.
Notification will NOT be sent when:
- Photos / files / forms / crop plans are attached.
- Adjusting the category / location / start and end dates / manpower / cost / tags / watchers (directly from the task attributes section).
- The Notification would come through if these were updated via messages. Ex: adding ‘#tag’ or ‘@category’ as a message.
- Adding a checklist / marking off a checklist line item.
- Adding a related task.
Due Date Form Notifications
Email and in-app notifications are sent to the Form Assignee 48 hours prior to the due date.
In order for the Form Assignee to receive the Email and in-app notifications, the form must have an ‘Assignee’, a ‘Due Date’, and be in the ‘Draft’ or another ‘Editable’ status.
If the Status of the form has not been changed to ‘Submitted’, or another non-editable status, 48 hours prior to the Due Date, the assignee will be sent an Email and In-App notification to inform them that their assigned form is approaching the due date.
Note: If the Form Due Date is changed, then the notification resets, and will be sent 48 hours prior to the new Due Date.
Note: If the assignee changes then a new email is sent.
Request Admin Access
When a user that is not a Project Admin wants to upload new Plans, they will receive the following notification and can request Admin access:
If they click "Request admin access", all Project Administrators in this project will then get the following email notification and can decide if they want to ignore the request or update the users permissions on the People tab.
Unsubscribing/Re-subscribing to Email Notifications
To unsubscribe from receiving Fieldwire emails, you have a few different options. However, it also depends on what emails you don't want to receive.
You are able to unsubscribe from Fieldwire system emails and marketing emails by clicking the Unsubscribe link found at the bottom of any of the system or marketing emails you have received.
Once you've clicked on the "here" or "unsubscribe" hyperlink, you'll be redirected to a page where you can choose to unsubscribe from receiving either "Invoices and project emails", "Tutorials and marketing emails" or both. Whichever you choose to unsubscribe from receiving, make sure the checkbox is "checked" and then click the blue "Unsubscribe" button.
Note: If you click Unsubscribe, you will not receive any emails coming from Fieldwire, including automated task reports, plan update notifications, or any other exports.
If you would prefer not to unsubscribe on your own, you can also request to have Support unsubscribe you from receiving emails by emailing support@fieldwire.com. If at anytime you would like to be resubscribed, please reach out to Support again at support@fieldwire.com.
If you want to have a more in-depth feature to decide which emails you receive and which ones you don't, or if you want to have the option to resubscribe yourself, contact support@fieldwire.com to request this feature.
If you would like to keep the email notifications, but don't want them to flood your inbox, you can create specific mail folders and filters which will push your Fieldwire emails to a specific folder.
