Update to the Inaccessible Content Page (October 2024)

Previously, new users encountering a 403 page (inaccessible content) would run into dead-ends. Now, invited users are presented with an option to request project access, directly from the 403 page. This eliminates the need to contact Project Owners or scramble to find someone to contact, and helps users get back on track faster.

Support for the Finnish (Suomi) language (December 2024)

You can now set the language for your Fieldwire instance to Finnish without affecting the other users on your project. This will make navigating Fieldwire easier for native Finnish speakers.

Plans

Virtual scroll bar on the plan thumbnail view (December 2024)

You'll now be able to use a virtual scroll bar on the plan thumbnail view! This improves performance and efficiency when scrolling through projects with hundreds of plans.

Specifications

Update to permissions when deleting markups on Specifications (November 2024)

Now, Project Admins can edit and delete markups on specs made by themselves and by members! Previously, Admins and members could only edit and delete the markups they, themselves, made.

Support for a new Specification format: CAWS (December 2024)

CAWS stands for (Common Arrangement of Work Sections) format. Fieldwire now supports this new Specification format (a format commonly used in the UK)! This only affects the specification upload process, and does not include any UI or UX changes. Customers uploading CAWS specs should notice that their specs are automatically split into sections and assigned a name/number with a much higher degree of accuracy than seen previously.

Display GPS coordinates in PDF Detailed Report (November 2024)

Photo coordinates that are available and associated with photos will be displayed in the PDF Detailed report. This is the case for both a PDF Detailed with Photos enabled but not with Inline Photos as well as for a PDF Detailed with Photos & Inline Photos.

Scroll through all Plans in Task Attribute Dropdown (November 2024)

You can now scroll through a list of all available plans in the task attribute dropdown. Prior to this update you would only be able to see 10 plans in this view, and you would need to search for the correct plan sheet if it wasn't one of the 10 listed. Now, you no longer have to search for the correct plan sheet by typing (though you still can if you prefer). You can simply scroll through the plans on that project!

Fillable PDFs (October 2024)

We’re thrilled to announce that you can now upload and complete fillable PDF forms directly within Fieldwire! The completed PDF forms are saved within the project, making record-keeping and compliance easier and more reliable. In addition, Forms can retain their original layout and structure, which is especially helpful for government or contractor-specified templates.

Object Tree (November 2024)

The object tree is an interactive hierarchy that comes from the IFC file itself. It is a hierarchal list of all of the objects contained in the model organized in two ways: by 'Story' or by 'Class'. You can easily toggle objects to show or hide ones in certain areas (stories) or of certain types (classes). This will help you find the objects and information about them more quickly.

Custom Submittal Responses (September 2024)

If you want to add, remove, or change any of the submittals responses that appear when approving (or rejecting) a submittal, you can do so by clicking on the 'Manage responses' button! This feature allows you to customize the options that appear in the 'Responses' dropdown in the approval block of a submittal. Project admins can edit Response options from the Settings page, the Submittals table view, and the Responses dropdown within a submittal.

Ability to edit an RFI Response while in 'Open' Status (October 2024)

If you realize that you need to update your question, you can do so as long as the RFI is still in the "Open" status. To update your question, you'll need to click on the three dots as shown in the screenshot above and then click "Edit question". By doing so, you'll be able to edit the text in the Question section. When you have finished updating your question, make sure to click the blue "Save" button!

Ability to edit a Submittal Response while in 'Pending Approval' Status (October 2024)

If the Reviewer realizes that they need to update their 'Review', 'Response', or 'Notes', they can do so as long as the Submittal is still in the "Pending approval" status. To update those fields, the Reviewer will need to click on the three dots as shown in the screenshot above and then click "Edit response". By doing so, the Reviewer will be able to edit the text in the Additional responses section. When they have finished updating their response, they need to make sure to click the blue "Save" button!

Users no longer need to send an email to the assignee of a Submittal when assigning the Submittal for approval (October 2024)

The checkbox that you can select/deselect to enable assignee email reminders if you're assigning to a Project User or an Email Address has been updated. The checkbox to enable assignee email reminders under "Email address" is a new feature as the system would automatically send email reminders to the Assignee. Now, you have the option to not send an email to the assignee of a Submittal.

Search Bar for RFIs Table View (October 2024)

There is a new way to locate your RFIs! The search bar shown in the screenshot above is specific for RFIs and will not show any results from other areas of the Fieldwire app. It's configured to search and return results based only on the RFI's name and number, no other fields or content. This will make it easier to find all of your RFIs, especially if you have a long list of them or ones with similar names.

There is also a new way to locate your Submittals! Ability to edit the Submittal name outside of Draft status (October 2024)

For Submittals, you no longer need to Void it if it was submitted with the incorrect name! You can now edit the name of the Submittal outside of the Draft status. This should make it much easier to avoid having several "Voided" Submittals.

"Assign to non-user request" workflow on Change Orders (October 2024)

Like on RFIs and Submittals, you now have the ability to leverage the “Assign to non-user” (assign to email address) workflow in Change Orders. This helps you submit or request change orders to individuals who are not on Fieldwire, via their email address. This action is captured in the activity log.

Creation of the new Budget module! (October 2024)

The Budget module is the newest addition to Fieldwire's suite of Project Management tools, designed to provide a clear and structured way to manage the financial aspects of construction projects. By setting cost expectations and detailing all necessary expenditures, using the Budget module helps ensure projects stay on track financially from start to finish.

Ability to set 'Answer received' date in RFI's "Answer on Behalf" flow (November 2024)

An 'Answer received' field is now on the “Answer on behalf” window in RFIs. With this field, you can easily set and record the actual date you received an RFI response from an assignee. The date information is captured in the activity log.

Budget 'Actual over/under' Column (November 2024)

There’s a new column on the Budget table under the Forecast section. It reflects the “Current budget” subtracted by the “Actual cost”.

Excel exports in the Budget Module (November 2024)

You're now able to generate an Excel report in the Budget module! When the ‘Excel report' option is clicked, it downloads the file to your computer as is consistent with this type of function in the other modals. The file will include information from the Budget module including information from the 'Budget', 'Cost', and 'Forecast' columns.

Ability to set 'Response received' date in Submittal's "Respond on Behalf" flow (December 2024)

A 'Response received' field is now on the “Respond on behalf” window in Submittals. With this field, you can easily set and record the actual date you received a Submittal response from an assignee. The date information is captured in the activity log.

Implement "submit to non-user" workflow in Change Orders (December 2024)

Like on RFIs and Submittals, you can now submit Change Orders for approval to users who don’t presently have Fieldwire accounts. This action is captured in the activity log.

Show "Import submittals" button to Contributors (December 2024)

Previously, the “Import submittals” button was hidden for non-Managers on the project. This change displays the button to all users, independent of permissions, and includes a tool-tip stating that only Managers can import submittals. If you want to be a Manager on a project, you'll need to reach out to an Admin on the project who can update your permission level.

Settings/People/Trash Tabs

Sections in the People tab split "pending" users and "approved" users (November 2024)

Project Admins can more easily identify which users require additional approval (users who requested access, uses who were invited by non-admin users) under the project ‘people’ tab.

Our latest integration endeavor introduces an automation for Microsoft Teams! If your company uses Teams to communicate on the job, you can set up a notification that is triggered whenever a form's status is changed in Fieldwire. You can tailor the automation to include specific types of forms.

Fieldwire now integrates with Microsoft Entra ID to help you centralize user management and enhance security practices. Fieldwire’s integration with Entra ID streamlines access requests to Fieldwire and simplifies how teams manage license allocation.

Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendar (December 2024)

Fieldwire now integrates with Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar! You can now view your Fieldwire tasks directly in your calendar app.
