Overview
Account form templates allow the Account Owner and Account Managers to easily standardize the Forms their Fieldwire Projects will leverage. Project Admins can pull published form templates from the Account to projects, as well as 'push' form templates from the Project level to the Account level.

The Account 'Templates' Tab
Account Owners and Managers will be able to access the 'Templates' tab from the Project dashboard on the web version of Fieldwire:
After you select the 'Templates' tab, you can view, edit, and create Account Forms and Account Lists:
The five default form templates do not automatically appear in each new project. If you are creating a new Business Account with Fieldwire, you'll see these default form templates in the "Templates" tab on your project dashboard.
Note: Please be aware that deleting Account-level templates is a permanent action and cannot be undone. If you choose to delete an account template, a warning will appear for confirmation:
Account Forms
Account Owners and Managers can create and manage Form Templates associated with the account. Forms that Project Admins import from Projects will also appear under the Account Forms section.
To create a new Form, select the '+New Template' option; this will take you to the Custom Form Builder. Here, you can create a new Form:

If you would like to adjust the name of the Form, select the Pencil icon. If you'd like to delete the Form entirely, choose the trash icon:
If you would like to adjust a Form Template itself, select the Form name to open the Template builder:
Like on the Project level, you'll need to 'Unpublish' the Form prior to editing any of the entries. Project Admins won't be able to import unpublished Forms into Projects, so choose to 'Publish' the form when any edits are complete:
Note: Any edits on the Account-level Form template will not push to any projects that currently leverage the Form.
Note: Publishing the form does not post the template to any or all of your projects, it only allows the template to be pulled from the account level into individual projects.
Account Lists
Account lists can be used as drop-downs in your account form templates. When importing an account form template into a Project, the referenced lists will be imported as well; use Custom Lists when you would like users to pick items from a discrete set of options. This is especially helpful for inspections and the punch list process.
Creating an Account-Level Custom List is similar to creating a Custom List on a Project. To create a Custom List, choose to "+Add Custom List":

To rename a Custom List, select the pencil icon. To delete a Custom List, select the trash option:
Note: If the Custom List is used in any account-level form templates, the Custom List will need to be removed from that account-level form template, prior to its deletion.
Account Checklists
As with Account Form Templates and Account Lists, Account-level checklists also allow the Account Owner and Account Managers to easily standardize their checklists across their Fieldwire Projects. You can have up to 1000 checklists at the account level. Project Admins can pull checklists from the Account to projects. Push a Form Template from the Project to the Account
Many users opt to leverage a template project, where they can build form templates that can be leveraged on multiple projects; depending on the use case, some projects may require unique forms.
Instead of cloning projects with dozens of templates, or creating the same form templates from scratch, you can now easily push any form templates from your projects to your account.
In a project, from the form template builder, a project admin can use the 'Publish to account' option:
Once the form template has been published to the account, we recommend going back to the project dashboard and clicking on "Templates" to verify that your form is there. Please note that this step can only be completed by an Account Manager; it will also be necessary to have the Account Manager mark the form template as "Published", prior to pulling the template into a project.
Account Owners or Managers will be able to edit the form template from the account level.
Note: Any edits to the form template from the account level will not be reflected on the project level.
Default Form Templates
You can add any of the five default form templates at any time regardless of whether or not they are in your Account Form Templates by following this workflow:
- Click the blue "+New form" button
- Hover over "+New template"
- Click "Create new"
- Select one of the five default form templates under the "Start with..." dropdown
- (Optional) Update the name of the template
- (Optional) Toggle whether or not you want it to be a "Dated template"
- Click "Create"
If you want to have previously created custom form templates in your projects, you'll either need to clone the project (How to Create Project Templates & Clone Projects) or import those custom form templates from the account.
Publish a Form Template from the Account to a Project
Any project admin can import published, account-level form templates to a project at any time.
If you are not seeing the Form Templates in your Projects, you may need to check the status of the Account Form Template on the Account Home page. In order for the Forms Template to be pulled into the Project from the Account, the Status of the Template needs to be changed from "Unpublished" to "Published".
Note: You'll only be able to see Account Form Templates from your Account if you also own the Project. In other words, if the project is owned by a different Account, when you try to pull Account Form Templates into that project, you'll see the Account Form Templates created by that other Account. In addition, you'll see the message highlighted in the screenshot below.
From the 'Forms' tab in a project, select 'Manage templates', hover over '+New template', and choose the option to 'Import from Account'. Any published, account form templates will be selectable - select the desired account form templates and choose to 'Import template(s)':
Once a template has been imported into a project, project admins have the option to further customize the form template to meet the specific needs of their project. Any edits made to the form template within a project won’t affect the original account form template.
Similarly, any edits made to an account form template will not propagate to the project form template that were imported from that account form template. This is to ensure minimum disruption on active projects.
How to share Form Templates between accounts
If you are on a project owned by another user, you will not be able to push any Account Form Templates that you own to that project as mentioned in the section above. However, if you follow the steps below, you can share any Account Form Templates between accounts.
To share Form Templates between accounts, you will need to create a project that has the form templates you would like to share. You can then invite the Account Owner or Manager on the other account, who will clone the project with the form templates, and then push those form templates from the cloned project to their Account Form Templates.
Please refer to the steps below for instructions on how to complete this - we will use two examples to illustrate this - Account A, who owns the Form Templates, and Account B, who would like to use the Form Templates.
1. Account A will import all form templates they would like to share with Account B to a project:
Note: Account A could also create a 'Template' project with all of the Form templates they'd like to share with any other Accounts.
2. Account A invites Account B as an admin to the project with the Form Templates.
3. Account B will create a new project, and clone the form templates from the Project that Account A invited them to. Clone the form templates by ensuring the 'Copy Form Templates' checkbox is checked. 4. Account B can then publish the Form Templates from the project they cloned, to their Account Form Templates tab:
5. Account B will then publish the forms from the 'Templates' tab and can now import the forms from Account A to any projects owned by Account B:
FAQs
Who has access to account form templates?
Account form templates are available on Business and Premier plans.
The Account owner and managers have access to the 'Templates' tab and are able to adjust the content of the account form templates. Project admins are able to import account form templates into projects and can import project form templates to the account.
Can I use mobile devices to access or edit account form templates?
This feature is currently only available through your Fieldwire web application.
